Property Floors

The Property Floors page allows you to administrate the floors within a property and add new floors.

The Property Floors page is only available if the Space module is enabled.

The Property Floors page allows administrators to define a limited set of parameters for a floor. For additional floor editing options, see the Edit Floor page in the Space module.

To open the Property Floors page:

  1. Open the Administration Menu page.

  2. Under the ADMIN heading, click Property Floors.

  3. Click SELECT PROPERTY.

    A dialog box opens allowing you to find and select a property.

    If the selected property requires a tower/wing specification, a Tower/Wing field appears, allowing you to select a tower or wing.

    For each floor, the following information is displayed:

    • Description – the name of the floor
    • Active – Yes if the floor is active
    • Tab Order – indicates the value's position in drop-down menus where lower numbered values are listed first
    • Last Updated By – the name of the user who last updated the floor
    • Last Updated – the date and time when the last update to the floor was made

ClosedAdd a Floor

Adding a floor allows you to add a new floor to a property. To add a floor:

  1. Click the Add New link.

    The Add Floor dialog box opens. The name of the property is displayed at the top.

  2. In the Tower/Wing field, select the tower or wing where the new floor is located.

    This field only appears if the selected property requires a tower/wing specification.

  3. In the Description field, enter a description of the floor.

  4. In the External Floor ID field, enter a floor ID that may be used in conjunction with an external system, if needed.

  5. Enter a value in the Tab Order field.

    The Tab Order indicates the position, in menus, where this value will be listed. Lower numbered values are displayed toward the top of the list. Values will the same tab order will be sorted alphabetically.

  6. In the Active field, select Yes to indicate that this floor is active; No if it should be inactive.

  7. Click ADD.

    The floor is added and the list is updated.

ClosedEdit a Floor

Editing a floor allows you to make changes to a floor's basic parameters and to associate a floor with a floor zone. To edit a floor:

  1. Click the Edit link to the right of the floor you want to edit.

    The Edit Floor dialog box opens.

  2. Modify any of the following fields.

    1. Description – the description of the floor

    2. External Floor ID – the floor ID used in conjunction with an external system

    3. Tab Order – indicates the value's position in drop-down menus where lower numbered values are listed first

    4. Active – Yes if this floor is active

  3. To include this floor in one or more zones:

    1. Click the Zones link at the bottom of the dialog box to expand the Zones pane.

      A list of all the zones this floor is included in appears at the bottom of the dialog box.

    2. In the Add Zone field, select the zone that you want this floor to be included in.

    3. Click ADD.

      The zone is added to the list. You can remove this floor from a zone by clicking the REMOVE link.

  4. Click UPDATE.

    The updated floor parameters are displayed, including the name of the user who edited the floor and the date and time it was modified.

ClosedDelete a Floor

If a floor is not needed or was entered in error you can delete it from the system.

Only floors that have not been used can be deleted. You cannot delete a floor if it has spaces or work requests associated with it.

If a floor has been used but is no longer needed, you can edit it and make it Inactive to prevent it from being accessed by users.

To delete a floor:

  1. Click the Edit link to the right of the floor you want to delete.

  1. Click the Delete link in the upper right corner of the dialog box.

    A dialog box opens asking you to confirm your choice.

  2. Click OK.
